As an adult, it seems as planning your future only consists of getting married, having a great career, buying a house, or starting a family.
As you may be seeing around you, a bunch of people usually take that route.
But what if that isn’t something that you are ready to do or don’t want at all, then…
Your future is whatever your heart desires!
So the question is, what do you want your future to look like?
Before I started TrulyMelody, I was lost and wasn’t doing much with my life.
Every day felt like Groundhogs day, where it all felt the same and mundane.
One day, I got tired of being wrapped up on the hamster wheel. So I decided to do something about it.
I thought it through and came up with various ideas but none were things I wanted to do.
Until I came across blogging.
For some reason, It was the only thing that I felt good about and more than determined to pursue.
I created a plan I was satisfied with and took action right away.
This helped me push through the fear and just made it happen.
With no experience, I was able to create what you are now reading.
I believe that if I didn’t have a plan in place, then my dream would have been just another wish.
I know that with whatever your heart desires, You can accomplish your goals by planning your future too!
Below I’m sharing the 8 things that I used to plan my future and helped me stay focused on what I wanted for my life.

Think About What Your Future To Look Like
One of the first things I did was to narrow down what I wanted to do.
Whether it’s pursuing your passion, turning your hobby into a business or career, or doing something you’ve never done before, take the time to think about it.
I always try to listen to my gut/intuition when it comes to finding what I want.
You will know when you find what your heart is set on.
After coming up with creating a blog, I needed to get real with myself. I knew that it’s going to take some hard work, more action and lots of focus for my blog to work.
Not saying that it isn’t possible but I needed to understand that things weren’t going to fall in my lap with little to no work on my blog.
There is nothing wrong with having a big dream, just remember that part of the plan is to set realistic experiences so you’re not blindsided by things that might throw you off in the process.
Write It Out
I wrote out my plan for my blog and I made it as detailed as possible. That way I had my map with my goals in mind so I wouldn’t feel as lost as I went.
Time to set your plan in stone. Physically write it out or even type it up and print it out!
Keep it where you can read it every day. You can even save it in your phone notes app that way it will always be in hand.
Give Yourself Time
Just like being realistic, I needed to accept that time is a friend and will work with me if I just let it do its thing.
Consider it like planting a flower, Once you’ve planted the seed, it’s not going to take a day of watering for it to bloom.
It will take whatever time it needs to grow.
Just don’t forget to keep taking action and keep working towards your plan/goals.
Another important thing is working on your plan/goal.
I used to think that if I just put in a little action, I would gain some type of reward.
But I learned the hard way. I wasted years because I didn’t take action on my previous goals.
And let’s just say they weren’t accomplished.
Don’t make the same mistake I did. Take the correct action you need to progress to the next level of your plan.
Even taking small steps is better than none. Start with something!
Share Your Plan With Others
With so many of my old goals, I was quite embarrassed to share them. (This came from my fear of rejection from others).
But when I planned for my blog, I was so passionate about it that I told everybody. Whether they believed in me or not, I still kept the belief in myself.
And I encourage you to do the same.
As Jay-Z put it “I believe you can speak things into existence.”
Don’t be afraid to tell people what you want to do in your life. Even if they support it or not, it’s your life to live.
Make It Your Main Focus
When I started to get serious about my plan, I kept blogging in focus.
I had a healthy obsession with making it work and seeing where it will go. And I can genuinely say, it’s been fun!
Set your focus on what you want and you will get to where you want to go.
Keep it in front of you as much as possible so that your intentions become set.
Let’s face it, things are going to happen in life.
I went through tons of trials and tribulations when following my plan.
But with every failure, there is a lesson and I made sure to learn from each lesson and course-corrected where needed.
Even if you get off track or if you come to a dead-end, pave the new path necessary for you to continue with planning your future.
Creating a plan for your future doesn’t have to be other people’s dreams. It’s yours to do what you wish and to make your dreams become a reality.
I believe that you can make it happen!
