Have you ever struggled with
I can most definitely agree to that! Seems like that is one of my biggest challenges almost every time!
When you first create the goal you want, it’s as if nothing can stop you! But then after a week (or even a few days), the motivation creeps out right from under you!
What the heck happened?!
I think it’s because if we are always motivated 100% of the time, everything would come easily and it wouldn’t be as fun or as rewarding once the goal has been achieved.
We need the motivation to ignite the goal, but it’s up to us to keep moving forward while providing our own will power to fuel it.
So if the motivation isn’t always going to naturally be there, How do we find it to continue to reach our goals and dreams?
Here I’ve listed the 11 ways you can spark that motivation again and how to do them!

Discover Your Why To Keep You Motivated
Something that motivates me the most is the reason why I’m going for a goal in the first place.
There is always a reason to go after a goal. For example, If you want to lose weight, it could be to look good wearing a bikini in Summer or If you’re going after that promotion, it might be to have more money saved for your dream home.
My Why is always these 2 things, For our future children & To be the best version of myself I can be.
So what is your why?
If you want a more in-depth explanation, You can check out this post on goal setting where I talk about reasons for having a Why here
There is a famous quote by Isaac Newton saying “A body in motion tends to stay in motion”.
When you find yourself in a funk, one of the best things to do is to take action towards your goal.
There are times I just don’t want to work out even though I know I should.
So how do you find the motivation to do so?
Well, for me, I simply just start working out. Within the first five minutes, I forget that I didn’t want to do it in the first place.
I know, I know, it’s easier said than done. But, if you can just push yourself just to get started, you’ve done the hardest parts and you’ll thank yourself at the end of it!
One Bite At A Time
When asked “How do you eat an elephant?” The answer is always “One bite at a time!”
I don’t know what it is but doesn’t it feel as though we have to do so many things at one time?
Doesn’t it feel overwhelming and make you want to just give up altogether?
Believe me, I’ve been there! But the one thing that we tend to forget is that we don’t have to put all that stress on ourselves.
The key is to start with just one thing and go from there. It’s that simple!
And if it helps, create a list of all the things you have to do and prioritize it from hardest to easiest. That way you get your biggest obstacle out of the way.
The last cliche, I promise! Rome wasn’t built in one day. So take it one step at a time. (Darn was that 2 Cliches?)
Surround Yourself With Positive Motivation
Think back to when you were a little kid. What was the one toy, movie, game, or any other thing that you were obsessed with?
Do you remember what it was like?
I’ll go first, I had an obsession with….are you ready for this?…. Spongebob!
I had the DVDs, pajama pants, wristwatches, games, a snow cone maker and so many other Spongebob nicknacks.
I was so obsessed that I was him for Halloween one year!
Looking back, it’s hilarious but it’s funny that I made it my mission to have as many Spongebob items a girl could dream of!
(If you thought that was bad, my cousin was just as obsessed or even more because she had the Spongebob TV set and Aquarium! We were two peas in a sponge-pod)
I’m not saying that you have to be overly obsessed, but if you have your goal in mind the best thing is to dive into that world. This will create your motivation on its own.
For example, if your focus is on fitness, follow fitness social media accounts. If your goal is to write a book, read other books and learn as much as you can through your searches or even your favorite author.
When we surround ourselves with like-minded people or things, we become more of what we want.
This one might just sound crazy but here is the hard truth.
If you are not enjoying what you do, then it might not work. Or at least work out the way you want it to.
When I was reading Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert, she talked a lot about bringing out our creativity (Which technically means anything we want and desire to do).
One thing that resonated most with me was that throughout this whole journey of achieving our goals and dreams, we should be having fun.
Let’s let go of the stresses and the demands we put on ourselves and enjoy the process as much as we can. Because when you are having fun, that’s when things start to work in your favor.

Take A Lookback
Take a minute to look back on how far you’ve come on your journey to accomplishing your goal.
The other day I came across a quote that is just a great reminder for seeing how far you’ve come. It goes:
“Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.” – Epicurus
When we think we’ve lost the motivation to continue towards achievement, looking back on how far we’ve come will bring more excitement to keep going.

Remember Why You Started
There is a reason a dream is placed upon your heart. Because it’s what you truly wanted!
When you start feeling the lack of motivation, sometimes there may be doubts about if it’s even for you?
If it comes down to it, ask yourself this one question: Why did I go after this goal & dream?
Answer that question and you might just feel that spark again like the first time!
Comparing can be a big reason to lose motivation and can bring about doubt about going after your goals.
I’ve been down the rabbit hole of comparing myself to others who already accomplished what I wanted. And I’m here to tell you that it’s not worth the loss of a dream.
Utilize these 4 tips here if you find yourself comparing.
Once you free yourself from the comparison game, it will be easier to stay focused on your own goals.
Love & Believe In Yourself
Do you struggle with loving & believing in yourself?
I do! But I’ve learned to cultivate more love and belief in myself throughout my personal development journey. And I’m here to say that you can too!
It can be difficult but when you add an ounce of belief in yourself that you can go out and accomplish your dreams, that is what makes all the difference.
I believe you can do all the things you set for yourself, are you ready to believe in yourself?
Lastly, working hard on your dreams doesn’t mean we should be completely hard on ourselves.
Reward yourself a little more often than just once in a while.
This will help bring more motivation because the more you reward yourself, the more motivated you’ll be to keep going towards the next one.
You owe it to yourself!
Everything that is listed is all the things I used for almost every goal I created for myself and has worked every time (even if it took some time).
