Fearless You – How to Push Past Fear to get to your dreams

Fear. Something all of us have and most of us feel we can’t get past. Whether it’s starting something new or continuing with something you’ve put aside.

Fear can either be the hindering factor of your dream or what you choose to embrace so you can move past it. I struggled with fear for so long, longer than I’d like to admit.

The Fear Within

Have you ever felt as if you weren’t ever able to live your life fully? I sure have. I Cooped myself up in my house and was afraid to go anywhere or do anything. The unrelenting thoughts of discouragement through fear stood inside me. And I missed so many opportunities because of it.

Confronting The Fear

One day, after feeling sick and tired of not experiencing the wonderful things life had to offer, I decided to push past that fear no matter how I felt. That’s when I decided to sign up to take an Aerial class.

You know the one with all the Cirque Du Soleil stuff that has the performers flying through the air on silk curtains and doing flips and tricks on it. Yes, that class. I chose it because it was something different, unique and I wanted to go big or go home.

I didn’t want to mention it to anyone besides my husband because I knew he wouldn’t question it. So, I checked for the next available date for the Aerial Class, signed up and committed to showing up that Friday night.

I was excited and dreading it all at the same time because I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I was more than ready to look fear in the face. I showed up, signed in, stepped into the classroom and the fear seemed to melt away.

The Breakthrough

That was one of the most freeing moments of my life. I let go of was holding me back and proved to myself that I can get past my fears. It paved a way for wanting to accomplish other goals I had.

How You Can Push Past The Fear

Fear is just a vapor. It looks like this giant intense unexplainable thing but it’s just a made-up situation we’ve created for ourselves. As to why we inflict it within ourselves, I couldn’t tell you. But what I can tell you, is you are able to push past it.

Think about what you have been too afraid to do. Is it learning a new hobby, traveling to a new place, trying a new style? Whatever it is, just go for it and remind yourself that you can do all things because the fear won’t matter once you start! If I can do it, you most definitely can too!

Everything is made possible and you can accomplish anything. You owe it to yourself to go after your dreams regardless of the fear that might come up. As they say, you never know if you don’t try, so why not now!

If you are looking to learn more about getting past fear one of the books I highly recommend is ‘Big Magic’ by Sarah Gilbert. Sarah goes in and talks about embracing the fear and going towards your goals and dreams. It’s a simple read and I’m sure it’s one you’ll be going back to again and again.
