Did you know that taking action on whatever goal that you’ve set for yourself is one of the biggest components in achieving your goal?

I know. You might be saying, “Well duh! Of course, it is!”

And you’re right. But if it was so easy, then why are we not achieving our goals every single time?

Because it’s a lot simpler said than done.

Let’s dive in on how you can start gearing up to take action to start going after your dreams!

How I Started Taking Action Instead of Wishing

I’ve mentioned in a few posts already that I was crowned queen of procrastination.

I would wish for everything but nothing came true and I would always have this false sense of belief that maybe it’s just not meant to be.

But, there was this huge missing factor that I knew about deep down and frankly didn’t want to do.

For me to get to where I need to go, I have to take action. No and’s, if’s or but’s about it.

After swallowing that hard fact, I had to push myself to get up and get my butt moving.

If I hadn’t taken action, I wouldn’t have this blog today, I would’ve never gone on our first vacation, or more than likely wouldn’t have been able to hit my fitness goals.

No more wishing, It’s time to start doing!

How You Can Start Taking Action Today

So are you ready to start taking the action to get the results you want for your goals?

Like I said before it’s a lot easier said than done. But it doesn’t mean it’s impossible!

First I want to give you an example of what taking action is like.

Let’s say you’re planning a trip to a destination and you are going to be driving yourself to said destination. The day comes and you’re all packed and ready to go.

You get in the car and put in the key but the engine won’t start. Then you find out that the gas tank is on E.

There are either 2 things that you can do, not put in the gas and don’t go on the trip you’ve been planning for or you find a way to get gas and fill the sucker up to be on your way to your planned destination.

The car represents our dreams, The destination is our goal and the gas is the taking action to get us from our dreams to our goals.

Which option will you take?

Most of us might take the easier route of not doing anything about it and leaving the car idle.

So how do we get ourselves to start taking action on what we want to do?

Here are 3 things that will help you start taking action immediately:

Find Your Why To Help You Take Action

I’ve talked about finding your why for creating your goals. I honestly believe that your Why is a huge motivating factor for taking action.

When you have a pure reason to go after a goal or dream, it becomes the driving force to why you get up early, start on the hard tasks, or taking on those extra hours to reach closer to what you want to accomplish.

Having your why is a sure way to start taking action immediately.

Create A Plan To Take Action

How do you know where to go if you don’t have a map to get there?

Whatever your goal may be, you will want to create a start-up plan to take action.

For example, when I first had the dream of creating my blog, I had no idea where to start. But this didn’t stop me from fulfilling my dream.

I did tons of research and finally landed on a detailed plan by that helped me so much in the process of making this blog and was able to immediately take action.

Finding that plan helps me take action immediately rather than wait for “perfect timing”.

A lot of times we think that we think that we have to come up with a plan from scratch when in reality there are so many helpful sources out there to get you started!

You just need to find the right plan that fits your needs and start taking action.

Publicly Declaring Your Goals to Take Action

Okay, I know what you’re thinking. It sounds a little scary but it’s not as bad as it seems.

You don’t need to announce it to the world.

Find one person you trust (or if you’d like, more than one) and let them in on your goals and how you are taking action towards it.

Tell your best friend, a significant other, a sibling or a parent. Someone you know that is always there for you.

By doing this, now someone knows your goal and you’ll have a better chance of wanting to keep going towards the achievement.

Besides my husband, I first told my sister about it and to this day she helps me feel the desire to keep taking action on creating posts for you!

It’s incredible when you find a support system that is there to root for you when you most need it!

Taking Action Is Important In More Ways Than One

Lastly, I want to talk about another reason why taking action is so important. And this isn’t geared towards accomplishing goals and dreams.

Many of us might feel lost in what we want to do in life and don’t know where to start.

Some of us might feel as if we need some type of passion or purpose to live life happily.

But that is far from the truth from what I’ve personally discovered.

I used to believe that I needed some type of purpose to fulfill my happiness and when I found myself alone doing nothing, the darkest of thoughts crept in.

It took a long time to find out how to feel happy when I most needed it. And I want to let you know that you’re not alone and you can get through this.

One of the biggest things that helps me shake off that overwhelming feeling is by just taking action.

Get yourselves moving. It doesn’t have to be an exercise or something big, it can be just reading a book or watching your favorite movie or even taking a little stroll down the street.

Do something to keep you moving and you will feel it all melt away at that moment.

I believe you have greatness within you and you are more important than you may think. You’ve got this girl, keep going! You deserve to be happy and enjoy your life!

Taking action is simple but so impactful in so many ways.

You may not even know what you’re doing but the fact that you are taking action to fulfill whatever it is you want most or you might need.

That’s all that matters.
